ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was Foot printed in the year 2014. By the constructive and valuable guidance of the Management, EEE Department has been making an all round progress. The EEE Department has traditional and modern Laboratories such as Machines Lab, Power System Simulation Lab, Microprocessor Lab and Basic Electrical laboratory. The Department is accredited by AICTE and Affiliated to Pondicherry University which comes under Central University.

The Department has been imparting quality Engineering Education and is grooming Students in all facets of Creative Learning, technical competency; Character building and overall personality development through well qualified dedicated and experienced Faculty members.

  • Ensure that every student is aware of the role & responsibilities of the engineer in society through the appropriate exposure to ethics, equity, public & worker safety & health consideration, together with the concepts of sustainable development & environmental stewardship.

PO 1

Engineering Knowledge

Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2

Problem Analysis

Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

PO 3

Design/ Development of Solutions

Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental considerations.

Conduct

Conduct investigations of complex problems using research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.

Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

Programme specific outcomes

PSO 1

Graduates comprehend the principles of power electronics converters in renewable energy and grasp the fundamentals of power system design, including constraints.

PSO 2

Ability to apply the understanding to select appropriate converters for renewable energy and solve complex power system design challenges, optimizing unit commitment considering various constraints.

  • Innovation Center: The students can explore their ideas and actively involve themselves to create and to innovate.
  • Electrical Machines Lab: This is the major lab of the Electrical Engineering Department where various practicals of Electrical Machines are performed. The lab was installed at the very initial stage during the establishment of the institution. This lab covers the practical’s of A.C Machines as well as D.C Machines. The machines installed at that time are still operating very efficiently.
  • Power System Simulation Lab: This lab covers the practical’s of various Electrical Engineering subjects such as fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, Electrical measurement and instrumentation, Utilization of Electrical Engineering through software Analysis.
  • Basic Electrical Lab: – This lab covers the Basic wiring and the importance of various devices and the tools used.
  • Microprocessor lab
